Why everything is so green in Galicia. Samos to Ferreiros. 16 miles. October 17.

I finally got to break out my poncho today. It's been raining a little at night and threatening in the last few days but today it actually broke into a heavy sprinkle.  It was not cold, so it was pleasant walking.

I've been fending off a cold for a few days and last night after a 20 mile (32 Km) day, I was exhausted and feeling sicker than ever. I was thinking that it might be time to hold up for a couple of days. This morning I didn't feel much better, but somehow after a couple of aspirin and a couple of cups of coffee I felt better and better for the rest of the day. It reminded me of backpack traveling when I was younger. I think I was some kind of sick about half the time. Unfortunately, it's probably inevitable with this kind of traveling.

Only 119.934 Km to Santiago de Compostela. Tomorrow I cross the 100 Km mark -

I passed through the town of Sarria today -

The Camino crossed under the highway and over the railroad tracks -I've been taking lots of pictures of all the different kinds of dahlias I see for my sister in law Delia. I leaned into a wall to get this picture and somehow managed to get my arm into the nettles in the foreground. My arm is still tingling 4 hours later! -
Tonight's albergue in Ferreiros. 12€ for a bed. -Today's walk -
