The first day is the hardest.. over the Pyrenees the way of Napoleon

It was a beautiful, difficult, and historic way to start the Camino today. I walked about 16 miles from France to Spain along the same route Napoleon's army took when they invaded and left Spain. Tonight I sleep in an old monastery in the small community of Roncesvalles, Spain.

  1. What's the white contraption you're wearing over your t-shirt in the pass photo?

    1. It's my backpack with a chest strap holding the shoulder straps together in the front. And according to the maker, the color is not white, it's "undyed". I also have a collapsible water bottle tucked in too.
