Saint Jean Pied de Port, my starting point for the Camino

Lots of pilgrims!  My dream of walking after the crowds have passed was unrealistic it seems. Even though nobody was here when I took the picture, it's full now along with every other bed in town.  I just barely got a bed in this place. 

I'll start walking tomorrow at sunrise. It's about a 4,000 ft elevation gain. Almost the same as hiking out of the Grand Canyon.

 A week to go before I leave for the Camino!  I have been making a possible schedule and packing list.  I'm also starting this blog...  I don't know who'll be reading it, so please make a comment for me so I know.
